I am writing on behalf of my friend Sabrina, who was recently diagnosed with stomach cancer. She is a young mother with a seven year old daughter and she is afraid to die. He doctors in Canada feel that he cancer is in its advanced stages and that they will have to remove her entire stomach. She is going into the hospital on Monday to have an laprascopy and to have a feeding tube inserted as she is unable to eat and losing weight rapidly. I am writing you in the group, to ask you to pray for her and her family. She is scared and alone and needs all of our help to get her through this. Thank you all very much.

Dear Dawn,
I have just posted a reply to Pinkfloydfan. Please read it as much of what I wrote there may apply to Sabrina’s case.
Please let us know what operation was performed on Monday and if a feeding tube was inserted.
I have a friend who had a total gastrectomy 22 years ago and he is still going strong!
Please tell Sabrina to stay in God’s light; His love is with her always. And to ask her Angel (s) to help her; they are always right beside her, waiting to be asked.
Sabrina is not alone. She will have the best care from all the hospital staff, she has you, and she has all of us on this forum. Hospitals are places of hope and love.
If there is any way I might be able to help please email me. Thoughts and prayers from my husband and I are being sent.
By the way, whereabouts in Canada?
Much love and hugs,
Val |

Dear Dawn and Sabrina,
I forgot to mention:
We all carry baggage that we should jettison. It is very important to the healing process that we forgive everyone who has hurt us and that we forgive ourselves for all the things we feel guilty about. Its all in the past, was all part of the learning process. Now go on with the intention of being a good and loving person.
Love and hugs from me. |

I have spoken with Sabrina's family and they say she is doind well. They were to install the feeding tuble which will hopfully allow her to gain some of her weight back. We are still awaiting the results from the laprascopy.
The surgery to remove her stomach is in two weeks.. Please continue to keep her and her family on your prayer list. Thank you......Dawn |

Dear Mousa,
I just wanted to update you on Sabrina. I spoke with her this evening. She is still in the hospital and will be there at least a month. They have postponed her stomach removal until the feeding tube has time to build up her strength. She is quite depressed as she has a 7 year old daughter at home and hates to think that she will be away from home so long. They are still planning to remove her entire stomach. The good news is the laprascopy showed that the Cancer has not mets to any other organs. They do not believe in PET Scans in Canada (not sure why) so we have to hope the laprascopy is correct. Thank you very much for your kind words and concern. I know it means alot to Sabrina that we are all pulling for her. God Bless you for your kind words to so many on this website.

Dear Dawn,
Thank you for update on Sabrina. Please tell Sabrina to put herself and her daughter in Jesus' hands. Often when I don't know what to do I picture myself as very small and place myself in His hands. If its a specific problem, I wrap it up and give it to Him, and quit worrying about it!! Works every time!!!
As you know my husband had adenocarcinoma with mets to oesophagus and lymphs. Tonight I will sit down with him and he will tell me all the things to write to you to tell Sabrina.
Bye for now and God bless,
Val |

Letter to Sabrina from Hugh.
Talk to your stomach. Tell it that it has to fight along with you to get rid of the growth that came uninvited.
Positive thought: Tell yourself this is just a bump on the road, you are not going to die, repeat to yourself ‘I am not going to die’, believe it, you are not going to die. You have the whole rest of your life to live.
Meditation: Lie comfortably in bed, breathe naturally, close your eyes. Breathe in and out through your nose. Feel the air flowing into your nostrils and out through your nostrils. In the beginning you will be able to do for a very short time before your mind ‘jumps’ to some other thought, but just bring your attention back to the air flow and continue just feeling the flow of air in and out. Doing this will bring about a relaxation and you will forget your illness. Think of a pure, clear, white light. Breathe this light in letting it go into your head and filling it up. Then let the light flow down through your neck into the rest of your body, filling your heart, stomach, lungs, intestines and every other organ and space in your body.
You can make the light more bright by remembering joyful scenes. The light will grow pure and clear and will heal. The light will shine all through your body and will reach the surface of your body and will continue growing so that it flows from your body and falls onto other people and becomes a healing force for them too. You will now be helping all the other patients and strengthening the doctors and nurses and other staff. Your light can go all over the world! Imagine this and believe it. Send your light out.
And from me:
1. Hospitals are places of great love and hope.
2. Many hospitals have nurses who practice ‘healing touch’. Ask if there is someone in your hospital.
3. Never be afraid to question the doctors about anything, however insignificant you think they might think the question.
Bye for now. Stay in God’s light.
Love from me and Hugh |

Hello Mousa/dawn ,
I'm so glad to hear that laproscopy confirmed that the disease has not spread to other organs. I'm sure that she is going to be alright. Even i had total stomach removed. I had in few Lymph nodes too. I'm doing great by God's grace. In addition to faith in God she should stay positive, which is our duty to make her feel positive. I'm sure we all are here to pray for her. My prayer will be there for her |

Dear Mousa,Herb,Fathak,
Sabina was operated on today. When they opened her up, they discovered that her cancer had spread.
The doctors removed her stomach, spleen, small intestine and some of her pancreas. Unfortunately, the cancer had spread to all of those areas.
Although the doctor feels she was able to remove all of the tumor, she is not sure of her prognosis because of the cancer metz. A pathology report is expected in a few days and will determine the prognosis.
I spoke with her husband following the surgery. She was still in recovery so he did not have an opportunity to see her or speak with her. Of course she is unaware that the cancer had spread.
Her husband is scared to tell her the extent of her cancer. He is afraid she will give up and will not continue to fight this horrible disease. As she was in the hospital for the last three weeks she was quite depressed before the surgery. Now with the news he is worried about her state of mind. As we all know it is devastating enough to know you have cancer but to find out it has spread is so scary.
Please continue to pray that she will some how pull out of this and survive.

Dear Dawn,
I am so sad to hear this news. Sabrina and her family will stay in our thoughts and prayers and we shall hope that she will find the strength to fight this. And God bless you for being who you are. As I think I have said before, a friend Had a similar op 20 years ago in Japan, doctors said they had got all the cancer out, and he is still going strong.
Love, Val |
