I'm at a loss. I had my first irregular pap smear last year with no prior history of irregular pap smears EVER. To my surprise it turns out I had severe cervical dysplasia and both glandular and squamous cell changes. I had a cone biopsy 7 months ago that successfully removed all the cancer cells. Since them I have not been getting my period regularly. It turns out now my cervix is scarring over (stenosis) preventing me from getting my period. Once I was in so much pain that an emergency procedure was done in the doctor's office to dilate the cervix. Three months ago I had a D&C in the hospital with the hopes that my cervix would be dilated enough and my period would be normal. It's not. I don't know why this is happening, what it means, and what my options are. The look on my doctor's face each time he examines me is puzzling. He said this is rare and isn't sure what to do next. I'm now just waiting until next month, hoping to get my period. Has anyone every experienced this or know what I should expect?

Hi Km.
I had a high level Cervical Cancer and had a Cone biopsy as well. I didn't have the problems you have had. But did find my periods were a little unregular for about 6 months. Not alot of change in amount or so on. but just timeing out. I did find i was more uncomfotable and had more pain. That has since pass. (2002 was treatment) I was also very uncomforable with my husband, but a little time and relaxation helped.

I would suggest to see a Specialist (Gyno) And have it looked at more. You never know, It could be a simple thing, to fix. Get a second opion. You shouldn't be in this pain for so long. And if she is puzzled, could be her problem not yours.

Be positive and hope this helps. - let me know how you go
