I recently had a bone scan done due to joint pain that I was having(I have fibromyalgia) and also some right side rib pain. When I spoke to my doctor yesterday he told me that there was a hot spot on my left orbit and in my fifth and six ribs on my right side. Of course I asked him if it could be cancer and he said he didn't think so but he was ordering more tests.

The two areas that showed hot spots are such unusual spots I honestly don't know what else they could be. I know that I didn't injure either one of the areas and I told my doctor that I had been having rib cage pain but now that I have thought of it I also have been having pain in my eye socket.

So, has anyone had an 'abnormal uptake' in either of these areas? He sent me a slip to get an MRI of my left eye socket and a slip to get an xray of my ribs. If there is anything else that someone might think this could be please tell m and give me some hope.

Thanks!

Sharon

wishmsater1972, I am very sorry about your health concerns. I have no idea what those "hot spots" might be. I hope the MRI is able to clarify things for you. Keep us informed.

In the mean time, I will copy your post to the general topics forum since you actually don't know that you have cancer.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.
