Hi there all i firstly want to say that im really sorry and i know what you feel if your loved one suffers of this awfull disease..

My dad was very fine 4 months ago.. its true that he never kept a good alimentation program but he was feeling great.. i left for 1 month at the country side in the summer and i find out while i am there that my dad had some pain in his abs and it didnt stop and he finally decided to go at the hospital and the result was pancreatic cancer stage iv final.. doctors gave him only 4 months

I am now here for him and stayed with him even if its hard because im only 18 and im alone with him and need to take care of him and its difficult

Now 4 months have already passed.. he looks very bad and very skinny.. its good that he doesnt have any pain at all mostly because doctors made him some incision of somethin like this and removed him some nerve

He is staying only in bed he has problems even if he tries to turn around to a different position in bed and i need to help him.. he stopped eating for 1 week he cant eat anything more.. he still drinks water around 2,3 glasses per day.. with my help he can stay a few minutes sitting on the bed but he cant lay up to walk
He is also in other places with his mind.. he doesnt know what he is talking about anymore .. but he still knows who i am and stuff

My question is like how much time do you guys think he could still have ?.. i can take the honest answers i know i am gonna lose him very soon and even if its very hard i did my best and i know i cant do anything more and know the situation

Thx for your time reading what i wrote and sry if i didnt speak very good but im from a non english country

earthquakero, you are a very strong young man and dedicated son to stand by your father during this time. I of course have no answer to the 'how much longer' question, but without nutrition his time would be short, indeed. I hope for you and your father a peaceful time, and my prayers are with you both.

Hi earthquakero: As Floyd mentioned you are quite a brave young man. I commend you for taking care of your father in this very difficult time. I hope you have a strong family support system too? I don't know what country you come from, but hopefully you also have a good health care system which offers hospice. When my father was very ill from lung cancer, hospice was invaluable.

Take care, MelissaV

Earthquakero, its already been mentioned but I am going to say it again you are doing an amazing thing. Last year my mum and I took care of my grandfather when he was dying of pancreatic cancer so I know how tough it is.
With regards to how long its hard to have an answer as each and eveyone is different. However we found that when my grandpa stopped eating solids he was very weak and became bedbound. The water kept him going for a while but soon that stopped too.
What I would say is just try to focus on the moment! You dont have long together so just focus on the time you have.
Are you getting help? It is important that you have some time too. You can get help from your district nurses, macmillian nurses, local support. If you dont have any of this help then ask your doctor about it?
Sorry I dont feel ive helped much in my reply but stay strong and make sure there are people there for you! Thinking of you both.
