Well relax ladies, I am still here. After I finished my first round of chemo and radiation last summer I had two clean scans at 90 day intervals. I stayed down in Florida most of time fishing and drinking. Well the last scan done in May wasn't so good. They found two new lung spots and one in adrenal gland and possibly one in colon.
So today I started round two of chemo with a new drug called PEMETREXED, it's supposed to be lot less severe side effects. I hope so.
I have to take a dose every 3 weeks.
Good luck and health to all of you.

Hi Bill;
Sorry to hear about the new scan results and I hope the new treatment works well on it, I have not heard of it but then I've never did research on it. I hope the fishing was good, I would sure like to get out my self. Please keep in touch.
God Bless

Hi Bill,
Pemetrexed is the generic name for Alimta. We were given the name Pemetrexed initially by the staff in the hospital, but I never read where anyone in the forum was taking the same drug! When I researched, I found that it was also called Alimta, and I haven't used the generic name since!
My mother has had positive results after four treatments of Alimta and Carboplatin every three weeks, and yes, with mild side effects.
I too, am sorry about the results of your latest scan, Bill, but I hope and pray that Alimta does your body good!!!

Hi Bill,
Sorry to hear about the new regimen of Alimta but sounds like you were grabbing the gusto in the meantime! It took a bit of time for the cancer to reappear, so hopefully this is a good sign that you'll be able to knock it back out of the park again with new treatment.
My husband did five cycles of Alimta and it was tough for him as it seems to aggravate people with breathing/serious lung involvement. Dano, on the other hand, is the pro from Dover with tons of this under his belt.
Let's pray that those spots will be a thing of the past quickly!
I think most of us would have been happy to join you fishing and tossing back a few. LOL
Hugs,
