hey im not sure where to turn so im hoping someone here can. was just wondering if anyone can help me, my dad tries to make me feel good about the disease as he doesnt want to upset me. but through research i understand the basics of the life expectancy of people at different stages. but the difference i am asking is after my dads specific treatment. firstly he had the op to remove the lining from his left lung, they continued with intense chemtherepy. unfortunatlty this didnt do as expected as he also has progressed to his aorta i didnt mention before sorry. anyway they have now said they will give an intensive dose of radiothereapy to the aorta and remove the left lung, from past experience of those on this forum approx how long have i got left with my daddy ??? many thanks if u can help and advice xxxx

Hello Lizzie; I'm so sorry that your dad has this terrible disease and it is so complicated to figure things out exactly. There is a lot of information needed to make a call on how long some one will live. And what you have shared with us here is so little to give a guess. But give it some time and think it over ok, If he was only to have a month....How would you feel? And what it was three months or a year? Will you be panicked if it was a few weeks and more relaxed if it was a year? But should that change the way you show your love for him? Let him see you planning for him to be around for years yet, but in your heart you want every moment and memory to be the best one with him. Because in the end it is those quality special moments you all will remember and he will have peace. Do what you can for him and do your best and that will be enough.
