Hello,

My dad has been diagonised with throat cancer and went through radiation therapy 3 months ago. Now he has again been diagnosied with "Metastatic carcinoma pyriform fossa". The doctor now says its not operable and the only treatment available is either chemotherapy or chemotherapy with bio therapy. I never heard about Bio therapy and I could'nt find enough material on the Net. Can someone please share their knowledge on the above?

My dad's age is 53 and the doctor says he has very less time to live. Right now my dad looks alright..eats better..and all normal except for a visible lump on the right side of his neck.

We are very very upset and donno what to do. Please help us.

Thanks a ton.

Hi swapnasagi. I am sorry about your father's cancer. Unfortunately, I cannot help you because I have no knowledge about or experience with his type of cancer. I can only do what you have already done... search the net. However, a warning, make sure you question every source; don't believe everything you read.

I too wonder what this "Bio Therapy" is. If you find out, let us know.

You and your father are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for the reply. Hope you are doing good.

Bio Therapy is to boost ones own immune system to fight against cancer. This is all I can get through Net. We took him to another doctor for a second opinion. We may go in for a surgery or if surgery is not possible then chemo therapy.

Take care of urselves. U r my inspiration.

Bio may refer to 'biologicals'.
My friend is on them for rheumatoid arthritis.

They are quite new. and expensive. I think given as an infusion intrvenously.
As suggested, I think they are to help the immune system.
She says she feels good after treatment.

Maybe searching immunology/rheumatology may find more info for you.
Good luck
