Hi everyone,

I am at the beginning, just had the doctors appointment about a pain in my abdomen. I have had this pain for a year or so, ended out in the hospital for 5 days last year because of pain and intestinal bleeding. They said it is colitis and since this pain was different this time the doctor said he could feel something attached or by my liver. The doctor said he is very concerned and I have alot of symptoms pointing in the direction of liver cancer. I am on codine for the pain and have a CT scan scheduled for 2 weeks from now. I am not that old, 40, married with 2 young kids. How hard will this be? My family doesn't know totally what is going on yet, they just think I am sick. I hope it isn't cancer but ready to deal with it if it is. If anyone has any suggestions for me I would appreciate it.

Thankyou

Hi dwinhold:

Welcome. I certainly wish I was welcoming you under more fortunate circumstances. I really am not sure how to address your issue concerning your children (maybe someone with young children will respond how they dealt with telling them), but I would be upfront with your wife with what is going on. I will be praying for you, and hoping it is not cancer. I definitely think more testing (as you mentioned you are scheduled for) is necessary, and not just your doctor feeling something which appears to be anomalous. Of course it needs to be checked out however. Keep us posted on how things turn out for you.

Rhonda
