And the doctor forgot to tell me that the two moles they removed were severe atypia? I have a surgery to remove one on the 10th, but I am worried that because it was two years ago it could have gotten worse. They haven't given me any answers yet on anything. How fast do moles change into melanoma?

The dermatologist actually blamed me for not asking for the results. I had a 2nd appointment, but I figured that since they didn't tell me the results I had nothing to worry about. I went back to them last week because the one mole they removed grew back and I wanted it looked at. It turns out that both moles were severe? I don't quite understand it all, but I know that they had my 5 and 3 year old in tears telling them that I could die.

I just want more information and I can't seem to get anything out the doctor.

Chelleybean999, I am so sorry about your health problems. Do you know if you have cancer or not? It sounds like you have a big communication problem with your doctors. There is no way any of this is your fault. Unfortunately, some times it does take a lot of effort on our part to get information from doctors. You have two options: Keep asking your questions and/or get new doctors. I don't understand why the doctor told your children that you might die!! That is totally inappropriate!!!

I do not know how long it takes a mole to become cancerous. I have had one mole most of my life and it has never changed.

Thanks for the reply. I have pretty much gotten the run around from them so far. I was told the one on my back is melanoma, because it came back from the biopsy two years ago as melanoma cancer. They said the one of the front was moderate to severe, and I am worried that maybe it too has turned into melanoma, or worse the one that already is has spread some where else
