I must admit I have been a skeptic of certain things, and have always had bad habits. I'm neither religious, nor spiritual, and I can't see that changing to a large extent. Each to their own I guess, I live in a country that isn't overly religious. Of course we have all people of all kinds of religion, but it just isn't who I am. But if your belief of god is what get's you through then that's absolutely fine by me and an excellent source of inspiration for yourself.

When I used to look around the chemo ward at the hospital and all the people who were suffering from the disease I was, I notice one similarity. None were in good shape physically, and none of these people were keen to change the way they went about keeping themselves physically and although I was only 26 and had played sports most of my life, and on the outside looked in peak condition, I was in the same habit of neglecting myself physically as well as mentally.

I continued on my same way once of had finished treatment after my first stint with cancer and it got me nowhere.

I have had aches and pains and numbness and tingling I just couldn't rid myself of, until I found out I had mets to my lungs and another small tumor in the abdomen area.

Well guess what, this time it had knocked some sense into me. I knew there was something wrong as I had a lot of general soreness, the type of soreness I had before they found the first tumor.

Since then I have knuckled down. I changed my diet. I now eat a balanced diet of multi-grains, fruits, vegetables, lean meat, fish, supplements etc. I have bought myself a road bicycle to improve my physical fitness and keep my body in repair mode. Although like I said I am not religious, I have taken up meditation to relieve myself of all stresses involved in everyday life, and most importantly and when I say most importantly I mean it, I have stopped drinking all soda's and cordials and replaced them with a water based fluid intake.

Since I have changed my ways I have relieved myself of any pain, symptoms, other health issues, and also my neuropathy in my feet has improved. I am battling cancer once again, but I feel 100% healthy and fit and will be in peak condition when I go in for surgery and other treatments.

I believe it has finally clicked. This will be my last battle because I am in a place in my life now where I understand the importance of helping myself.

A famous quote from a famous movie "get busy living, or get busy dieing". I'm about to get busy living and so can you.

HI BRENT,

Good to read your message, Diet is so very very important to battling this evil disease, You have to be on offensive and not let it take grip of your life. Cancer wants to take all the nutrients out of your body so if you are not putting them in and keeping immune system high, how can you fight it?

Regarding being relgious you will find most of us are not, but what we are is christians who follow a man who give up his life so we might live. When you have the time and I am sure you will have plenty of that soon, pick up and Bible and read New testatment and read about this increible Man Jesus and what You MEAN TO HIM... I did many years ago and I was wild and a alcholic and I read about him and he changed my life , and took me on an amazing journey, I have been fortunate to have seen a lot of countrys and had a good life and then met Barb this amazing woman, who got colon cancer in 2001, and I have looked after her for 8 yrs until God called her home with all side effects of stage 1V colon cancer,, but what a journey we had,,

30 mins before she went to be with her Lord she said Rob I see Angels, so I told her to go with them and one day soon I will be with her,,

Brent you owe it to your self to look into God and Jesus, and let him walk this journey with you. I mean what harm can it do? but it could be so much good for you...

Praying healing for you.... keep going ... we are all supporting you on this same journey...

Best Wishes Rob

Good that you are eating better, Brent.

One thing about chemo patients. Cancer and Chemo are tough on the body. Some of those people might have looked healthy before the cancer and chemo wore them down. Also, most of the people I meet, getting chemo, are elderly. I am usually the youngest there.

I was getting back into shape when cancer hit me a second time. I was running 5 miles 3 or 4 times a week. I was lifting weights. Five months of chemo have left me in bad shape. I hope to start exercising again once I get done with this chemo.

I am currently cycling 25km a day.

I feel as though the cancer is dieing. The symptoms I had been having, pelvic pain is disappearing.

I genuinely feel happy and that this thing is dieing. Also seems they won't be doing chemotherapy on me. If they do I think I will refuse it anyway.

Feel as though with a strong, fit, young body and healthy immune system I can beat this thing.

Your brain is so powerful if you let it be. I'm doing well.

HI Brent,

Glad you are doing well, but be very careful because cancer cells are very very clever ,,, my wife Barb looked picture of health and never suffered from colds or flu at any time ... but those evil cells can work way round body... so do not discount chemo... it can go hand in hand with a good diet ...

Keep going Best Wishes ... and Prayers For You...

Rob

Don't think my ornchologist wants to do chemo. I finished 12 round of folfox in Jan.

Pet scan came back good, and having 3 ops over 3 months. Got it very early this time.

One coming out of the pelvis in Dec. And a couple coming out of the lungs in Jan, Feb. Prognosis is good. Pet scan couldn't indicate anymore disease in the body.

Only 26 so just need to go back to work, live an active and healthy life. Don't think chemo can do a lot more for me. Just got to be happy and do what I feel is best.

Hey Brent, Rob is right. The bible even says:

Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

Thats a promise from God not man.

Bob
