Hi Everyone,
Yesterday I had a biopsy done. I'm 58, still having my periods and cramping. They are not heavy but long in duration. The Gyno suspects uterine cancer. No results until next week. I am terrified. Cant sleep, cant eat. I am so terrified. Just need to tell someone who knows where I am coming from.

Hi Suzeque:

Welcome to the forum. Prayfully, you wont need this place in your future. Your feelings are very understandable. Uterine cancer can exhibit a variety of different symptoms, and although long bleeding can signify it; it can also signify other things such as fibroids, hormonal imbalances, endometriosis...I am glad you got a biopsy done, it will give you the answers you need. I also want you to know uterine cancer can be survivable--particularly when caught in the early stages. I can tell you, and I do tell you-- not to worry,... but I know you will worry. It is only natural. But do hope for the best. I will be praying for you, and when you get your results, please let us know what your doctor says.

Rhonda

Hi Suzeque,

I know where you're comming from, it's awful being in limbo, not knowing what's going on. I actually feel much better knowing I have Uterine cancer than remembering the weeks when I wasn't sure what was going on.

As Rhonda says, even if the worst comes to the worst uterine cancer can be survivable, particularly when caught in the early stages.

Please take care, try to sleep, I know it's hard when your mind is full of information and worries. I'm starting Radiation in a couple of weeks, in the daytime I feel fine but at night I start to thing about it and the side effects.

Let us know what's happening, we are here for you Very Happy

Rhonda & Pixie,
Thank you for your encouragement. I slept well last night but today the fear has set in again. My husband says I am getting too much information from the internet and thats not helping. He is right. Rhonda, you mentioned fibroids. I have had fibroids for years-at least 1 very large one and several small. The Dr seemed very concerned that I was still having periods (odd ones) at my age and said we could no longer blame it on fibroids. I am hoping that they are the problem. I know a hysterectomy is in the near future. That alone is very frightening to me as I have never had surgery but it cant be as bad as living with this fear. Back to work tomorrow and will try to get through the day without panic. I dont know how long it is going to take the get the results in. Hopefully very soon.
Thanks again for your encouraging words.
Sue

I just had a biopsy done yesterday and am very scared. I have been bleeding for a week and it seems that after the biopsy I am bleeding more even though the doctor perscribed some hormone pills to stop the bleeding. I can't even think straight. I have 2 school age boys and can't imagine not being here for them. I get my results next week which seems like an eternity. Wish me luck!
This is a wonder website and very conforting. I am glad it exists.

Hi irma33:

Welcome to the forum. You will certainly be in my prayers. I know you cannot help but worry, but try to think positive and keep busy with other things. Abnormal bleeding can occur for so many reasons, and most of the time, it is not cancer. But because cancer is so destructive, it is necessary to take steps to determine the cause of such symptoms. Also, if caught early enough, most types of uterine cancer are very survivable.

Suzeque, did you ever get your results? I have been in a whirlwind lately, and have not been able to check into the forum as often. Please post and let us know how your results turn out!

Irma, you too. Let us know what happens. I wish I could ease your worry, but know you are among people who have travel this difficult road. You will find on this forum great reports; where NO cancer was found when biopsies were performed!! I am praying you will be in this category. Wink Your fears are natural, but I believe you will be here a long time for your boys! It's hard not to have a cloud over you while you wait (if not impossible Rolling Eyes ), but believe for the best, and keep us posted.

Rhonda

Rhonda,
First of all, I want to thank you, Pixie and the other ladies for your support. Waiting for the biopsy report was the worst. I am happy to report that the biopsy came back clean. I have fibroids and a hormone imbalance for which I am now on medication but no signs of cancer.
You are all in my hopes and prayers! Its wonderful to know that there are so many sisters out there that truly care.
Gods Blessings,
Suzeque

Suzeque,

WOW that's wonderful news, it's great to hear good news and hopefully other people will read your post and know that there are other results apart from the dreaded Cancer.

Irma33, Hello and welcome, as Rhonda says "hang in there", there's nothing worse than waiting for results. I'll be thinking of you and hopeing for the best.

Take care everyone Laughing

Hello again all...

Irma, please go back and read my posts from a few weeks ago. Like you, I was waiting for endometrial biopsy results, and I could only think the worst. When I went on all the different websites, I saw that I was experiencing almost every symptom of uterine cancer. I was terrified, and spent most days crying while I was waiting for those results to come back. I am also a mother of six school age children - ages 16 down to 3.

My results came back normal. My symptoms were due to hormonal perimenopausal changes, which the doctor told me may or may not continue over the next few years.

Like Rhonda said, try not to worry too much, although I know it is easier said than done. Try not to let the anxiety consume you, as it did me. As Rhonda said, most times these biopsies do come back normal. Try to keep that in the back of your head.

Suze, so happy to hear that your biopsy results were normal, thank God!

And Rhonda, you continue to amaze me with your kind words of strength and support for everyone on this forum. You are a beautiful person, and I want you to know how much your support meant to me when I was going through the ordeal of my biopsy. You are an angel who remains in my prayers.
