Is there an oncologist or radiation therapist out there who can tell me what the usual dosage of radiation is for treatment of Hodgkins?
Radiation therapy was over a 20 - 25 day period and was applied to the upper torso (waist up) to the mantle (mandible??).
For example - Would it be 100 rads per session or 100 rads in total?
Thanks

Hi Angel's Mom,

I just finished radiation. The total dose for my situation was 3400 centigrays (cGy). One rad (R) or roentgen is about equal to one gray. Therefore, I believe the dose is 100 rads per day or 2500 rads for the total course of treatment (mantle field).

I can send you some url's for conversion factors as well as dosing if you want. Also, I would not hesitate to call your radiologist to ask these questions regardless of how long it has been since treatment.

Thanks for your earlier replies to my posts. It was was VERY helpful to have your insight.

Best regards,

Bill
