Hello, I am going crazy and am just wanting to get this off my chest. This is a long story and I hope I make some sense but in Oct. my 56 yr old father was told he has Melanoma with no primary site. He had some lymphoid's removed and they came back with the melanoma and then they did a PET scan and nothing. Just for percaution before treatment they did a complete removal of his lymphoid's They ended up taking 36 noids and all came back no melanoma but today we were told he also has CLL which is short for Chronic lymphocytic leukemia. The doc didn't seem to think it was a really big concern and said they are still gonna proceed with the inferon treatments just has they were before the new diaganois of CLL. We were also told that he could no longer be in a clinical trial he was involved in and that they are changing his doctor that we really like and who is also world known for his melanoma studies. Now that he has 2 different cancers they think a different doc would be better. I can not begin to imagine what he must be going through. I try to act like it is all gonna be ok but really I want to hug him and cry like a baby. Crying or Very sad I just feel overwhelmed and I know that my dad is being strong for all of his 5 children and his very worried wife. He is very stong and he is still very healthy and I am sure all will be well but it just seems like everytime we think we are gonna hear something at the doctor that makes sense we get some more stuff that drives us crazy and sends me to the dreaded internet all night. If anyone has any advice for me it would be greatly appreciated.
