Hi everyone,

My good friend has just been told by her Doc that she has Myeloma. The doc didn't even know much about the illness and so she has to wait to see the specialist. We have been looking on the internet and everywhere else for info.

She is only 30 y.o, and white female. What I have found on the net is that it is more common in people over 50, males and black people, and for people under 40 it is so rare. With all the info that I have seen it just seems hard to take in that she has it.

She moved to London about 4 yrs ago and not long after that she would always come down with some flu or chest infection that just wouldn't go or would turn into pheumonia. Recently she has had problems with her kidneys which is what led to getting the biopsy done recently which is what resulted in her finding out she has Myeloma.

What are the chances of misdiagnosis? Where is the best place for treatment and best specialist for this type of illness in London or Australia(she already has a booking to see a specialist on Monday). She lives in London but has family in Australia.

Thanks in Advance

Yep! The incompetent Doctor misdiagnosed her with Myeloma. You can imagine the pain and grief that has gone on. I won't write too much more on it because I don't wish to put swear words down on this.

I'm just so over the moon that she doesn't have Myeloma.
