Hi all,
I just finished a 6 month course of chemotherapy after being diagnosed with Hodgkins lymphoma and like most people i lost my hair which was an extremly hard thing to go through but my question is.. How long does it take for your hair to gow back nice and thick again? I do have hair but its not really very thick.
so if anyone could answer my question that would be great
thankyou

| As I recall, two months should bring it back to normal. I think different chemos have different results. |

Hi garyba,
Not to rain on your parade but my experience has been that every person is different (you'll grow to hate that statement). Some end up getting thicker hair than before, some end up getting younger looking hair, some end up getting naturally curly hair, and I ended up getting straight, thin, nearly unmanageable hair (which previously had been extremely thick).
So my adivce is pick up those dice, give them a good shake, and hope for a 7 or 11, but even if you get a 4,5,6,8,9 or 10 ...... It just may take you a bit longer to win. _________________ Burt |

hey ceaves hows things?
just answering ur question about how i was diagnosed... well first i found the lump in my neck and got it checked out.. 1st got a blood test but that didnt show anything, it actually showed that i was pretty healthy, had a needles biopsy.. but the doctors still werent sure but had their suspisions all the same, so then i finally got a whole bunch of tests like CT and MRI scans which finally confirmed that i had hodgkins lymphoma.
Well i hope this answers ur question!
how were u diagnosed?

Hi Again SHANELLE85
Just an update on the hair issue. I have noticed recently that my hair actually is still getting thicker, even after over two years since losing it, so if you're not happy with it right now, just hang on for a while and you may be surprised.
Cheers! _________________ Burt |

I havent been and hopefully wont be diagnosed. I have a PET scan this Friday and if that soft tissue enlargment lights up they will biopsy. Its behind my sternum so they want to be sure before they go cutting into me. I have been keeping an eye on the node they found in the side of my neck. Its pretty small, but I found another one below it about an inch and a half above my collar bone. I have a little chain of them from the back of my head all the way down my neck, just on the left side. Actually though Ive been feeling pretty good lately. Still really tired, but I feel alot less worried because the scan should tell us whats going on.
Are you finished with your treatment yet? How are you feeling other than the hair?
