Rested from all chemo a couple of weeks. Dr. has offered xeloda only, at a lower dose. I am fearful of giving him anything else and fearful of NOT giving him anything. The oncologist says he is in a quandary, he wants to fight for us but doesn't have much to offer. One minute Sam says he wants to try whatever is available and the next he says it makes no sense to get sicker trying to get better when we know there is no getting better. A puzzle.

Monday we are going to see an herbalist- nothing too crazy, just someone who will see if there are any supplements that might make Sam feel better. When they hear pancreas they jump right on the food enzymes but his pancreas is not the problem right now so I don't know what she'll offer but it's worth a try.
The kids are off to our traditional week at the beach with my sister and her family. After our foray into the world of herbs, Sam and I will try to get there. There is a lovely screened porch and he could stay on one level of the house and not have to move around. Sam doesn't want to be a bother and "ruin every one's vacation". He says he doesn't want to cause everyone to have to adjust their time around him( time to eat, help Sam get up , quiet down, Sam is sleeping) I told him those arguments would only work if he were going somewhere where he was not loved. I have to find out if he would really just not like to go and is making excuses or if he is looking for reassurance that we want him there. Another puzzle.

He felt so good Friday night he had a slice of pizza and a beer. He paid for that dearly on Saturday. But after sleeping all day he had a good evening.

Hope everyone is doing as well as can be expected-continued good thoughts to all...Reenie
