Hi my name is Lisa, I am 34 years old and am a survivor of Non hodgkins lymphoma. I was diagnosised at age 6 in 1977. I was treate with chemo, radation, and surgry. I also had a brain tumor in 2003. It was called an acoustic neroma. completely unrelated to the cancer. I feel like I am 70 years old most of the time. I keep tring to figure out why. I don't know it maybe it is long term effets of everyting my body went throug as a child. I was wondreing if anyone had any ideas on it. Maybe it's related to the brain thing and not the effects of my treatment as a child. My big concern is my body is going to give out too young. because it was over used as a child to handle the cancer. Any comments would be helpful.

Hi Lisa,
My name is Jim, from what you have written i would have to say its from all the drugs etc we were given back then some of which were more than likely just above experimental.
I was diognosede with N.H.L. at age 17 i think it was around 1978, im 44 now and have just finished one half of my chemo treatment, yep,23yrs of worry, not being able to make plans and the constant knowledge that ITS there.
I have had some remissions, one even lasted nearly 10 yrs,but it was just trickin. Yeah i get up in the morning and feel like death and im sure its from the crap they have pumped into me, i ache all over and in the cold times i had to run my hands under hot water just to get them goin, but hell, some would say,at least your alive,,,i wonder.

I am Hugh, and am 57. I am a survivor of hodgkins 3B or C I can't remember. I was diagnosed in 1972. I went through Chemo from 1972 to 1976. That was a very rough time. The treatment was part of a guinea pig program and I am a survivor of it. At times my legs feel like they are going to fall off. I am sure that is probably a side effect of some of the chemo. But I have gotten to see my children grow up, I have gotten to meet my grandchildren, and hopefully I will get to meet my greatgrandchildren. When I think of giving up I just think could I go to my Grandchildren and tell them they were not worth hanging around for. I have had a lot of rough times but as long as I wake up in the morning, it is going to be a great day! Very Happy Life is too short to sit around and feel sorry for yourself, there is always somebody else with a bigge problem. I have a nephew who is stricken with MS and has lost use of his legs. If he can do it so can I. I just want to live life as full as I can and enjoy it. Wink
