I am new to this forum and am searching for information for my mother in law. We are looking for the various treatments for pancreas cancer and their chances of success. What treatment did your mother have? Are you aware of additional successful treatment?

Hi Hadar!

I´m not aware of any particular treatment for this cancer beside those that people are describing here.

The treatment that my mother received was following:

She started with chemos, a five week treatment with two different drugs, one of them called Xeloda, and the other one Eloxatin. One of them on a daily basis and the other one on weekly basis.

After this she continued with a four week treatment of Xeloda on a daily basis and Radiation with the same frequens.

The goal with these two treatments was to schrink the tumour enough to make it operable, which they did.

She were allowed to rest for a month after the second treatment to gain strength for the whipple procedure, which was conducted in the beginning of September.

The Surgery was succesful, and the tests shows us that the Cancer hadn't spread, and the tumour was nearly completely dead from the two treatments. So far so good.......

But, the post surgery affects from the whipple has been very hard on her. She has a very long journey ahead of her before she will be able to eat and live her life normally. But we are all aware of that this is a avery cceptable price when it comes to this decease, if all the cancer actually has been removed.

Let me know if you want more details about the treatment, for example: doses of the chemos

Btw: which country are you from?

Wish you luck
