Husband's PSA is currently 3.59, at this level has anybody had the surgery or seeds/radiation?
Are there chances of some quality of life with sexual activity higher with radiation, surgery or about the same for both procedures?

Does either procedure cause a negative effect emotionally on the man.

Are there any known side effects from either treatment and/or medications?

Does the desire for sexual activity decrease after either procedure?

Any suggestions to help enhance quality of life after the procedures are done?

Have you noticed if PSA increases more after surgery or seed/radiation procedure?

Many things can influence a PSA reading, including size of the prostate, infection, inflamation etc. There is no such thing as a "normal" PSA.

With PC diagnosis, other results (stage, gleason score etc) are more relevant in choosing a suitable treatment, and the full profile needs to be considered in considering treatment options.

Generally, the results of surgery or ratiation for local PC have equally good results in most respects, and it comes down to preference.

Most important thing is selecting a top doctor, regardless of the treatment method, as this can have a huge effect on long term prognosis: for example, in the hands of a top surgeon the instances of side effects you mention are greatly reduced. While there will be short term effects, the failure rate is less and you give yourself best chance of good long term prognosis.

Lifestyle improvements and changes to exercise, diet and nutrition can only help with any treatment, especially radiation.

I always suggest reading a good book on the subject, like the one by Dr Lee Nelson which is very compehensive and covers all of these topics, or the book by Dr Scardino.
