Ok first off my name is Felicia and Im 24 years old. I have always had irregular periods and before I started bleeding for this almost 4 years I hadnt had a period for about 2 years. I let it go and go without seeing a doc because I was scared and I always told myself that it would stop bleeding. Finally I went almost a month ago to get a Pap, and to see if a cyst had grown back. When I was 16 years old I had a 25 pound cyst removed from my fallopian tube so thats why I wanted to see if it came back.

They couldnt do the Pap because I was bleeding and they said it would come back unidentifiable (sp). They ordered a Pelvic Sonagram and a CT Scan, along with blood work.

They called me a a lil bit later to let me know a huge cyst was growing on my left ovary Sad and they were sending me to a OBGYN/Specialist a few weeks out.

I called 4 days later about the blood work and they told me that I had PCOS and that I had type 2 Diabetes. Sad

Well now that I went to the OBGYN/Specialist he said since I have been bleeding for so long the first thing that he want to do is a Endometrial Biopsy and Im scared to death:( Im asking all the women that have had one of these to let me know what to expect. Im horrified that it is going to hurt. Im so scared that I went for so long bleeding the way I was bleeding that its not going to be good news!!

PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi Felicia,

Sorry to hear about what you have been going through, and I am glad you are getting this checked out. Any long period of bleeding or abnormal bleeding must be checked out by a doctor.

My sister had an endometrial biopsy, and she informed me the procedure was painless for her. She was diagnosed with endometriosis, and thank God it was not cancer. Her course of treatment was to have a partial hysterectomy although there may be other ways of treating it. It sounds like your doctor is exercising wisdom by ordering the tests he/she is doing. Giving your history, it is wise, and I can only imagine how terrible it was to have a cyst that size.

Hope for the best Felicia. I would like to say don't worry, although that is easier said than done. You are in my prayers, and keep us informed as to what happens.

Rhonda

Thanks Rhonda

I have 10 days before I have the Biopsy now and im trying not to think about it but its hard not to. I try and tell myself that im too young for this but I know there is a chance that I do have it. Thank you for having me in your prayers. I will keep you updated. And if you could suggest anything like what I should take before the biopsy for like pain and etc... I would highly appreciate it!!

Hi Felicia, Very Happy

I really feel reluctant to tell you to take anything without you consulting your nurse or doctor first. Your best course of action would be call them and ask if there is something you could take for pain before the procedure. You may not experience any pain like my sister. But do call them and ask what would be acceptable or not acceptable to take for pain. It could be medication may interfere with the procedure, so I think you should call them before the test. I will be keeping you in my prayers, and let us know how the biopsy goes. Hang in there, and let's believe for the best.

Take care,
Rhonda

Well as of yesterday they will not be doing the Biopsy, they called and told me they will now be doing a D & C. I hope everything goes well. Im not so nervous now that I get to be put to sleep for this. I am a lil scared about the whole idea of it though. I will keep you updated and thanks again Rhonda!

Hello Felicia Dawn,

I suffered with very heavy bleeding for years and needed to have a huge fibriod removed when I was 21 (12x14x10 cm). A few years later I needed a D and C and it felt like a bad period with bleeding and cramping. The bleeding lasted as long as a period and the cramping was only a day or two. After the procedure everything settled down and I was able to have two children.

Good luck

Thanks Queensland Girl & Brainman

I had the Hysteroscopy D & C today and it wasnt as bad as I thought it was going to be. I have completely stopped bleeding and I feel 100 times better for the time being. I have a follow up appointment with my doc on the 26th of this month which is when I will find out what they found out. I thank everyone that has me in their prayers!!
