| Well,,, I'm new here and newly diagnosed. Hoping to get some other input other than the doctors opinions. I would like to have suggestions from others who are going through this or have already been through this. Diagnosed in late May, had what I thought to be a blood blister on the side of my 4th toe. Went to family doc to have him get rid of it, he did biopsy and that is where this whole nightmare started. He referred me to a cancer surgeon and they had to remove the 4th toe and also removed 2 lymph nodes in my groin area, that biopsy showed it was also there. Had CT and MRI scans and they came back clean which is good. Was scheduled for a complete node dissection yesterday, 7/26/07 but developed an infection at the site of the node removal where they had to put in a drain because a large seroma had come up. Now I'm rescheduled for Aug 3 for the next surgery. Sometime after the surgery I will be with an oncologist to set up treatments. If anyone has had this operation please let me know what to expect. Thanks to all!!!!! |

Sandy, I am so sorry about your diagnosis. What kind of skin cancer do you have? How did your surgery go? Have you started chemotherapy? Sorry about the 20 questions but having this information is important in understanding what you should expect. I also what to let you know that you have been in my thoughts and my prayers. _________________ Jim

Be strong and keep your faith in God, he will pull you through. I'm here to tell you that you are not alone. I too have melanoma cancer that has spread throughout my body. I just found out last Friday that it has spread to my brain and to other parts of my body. I would love you give you my story, but it's rather lengthy, so if you wish you can read my blog out on my myspace site. This is not a spam site, it is legit. If you go to the site click on my battling cancer blog link. I hope my account of this horrible disease will give you hope and strength.
Live strong in God Sandy. What ever you do, do not give up. It may seem like there is no light at the end of the tunnel, but if we stay strong, lean on God and don't give up we'll beat this thing.
My thoughts and prayers to you and yours.

Thaddius, I am deleting your link because we have a policy that says you do not yet have the privilege to post links to outside websites. In order to use hypertext links to other sites you have to be an active member for over 1 month and have posted at least 10 significant messages (no duplications or frivolous messages will count). This forum has adopted this policy because of spam, ads, pornography, and the danger of viruses or spy-ware.
Please, read our policies.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
By the way, the link you used did not work anyhow. _________________ Jim

Brainman,
My apologies for not following the forum policies. However, I do have a story I would like to post, unfortunately it is quite lengthy, but if its okay with you I will post the text in its entirety here in this forum. I hope you will allow it; I think it will help others who are going through the same thing I am.
I'll put my story in the post that I created tonight.
Again, I apologize.

No, Thad, I owe YOU an apology. There was something wrong with your link so I could not verify that it was not an ad and was virus and porn free. The link on your other message did work. Since it is to a truly personal blog, it is allowed. Please, feel free to add it back to the previous message. _________________ Jim
