Hey everyone I just want to share whats going on with me and get your advice. Everyone seems very knowledgable about this subject and I value your opinion.

Ok Im a 26 year old male very active. I do have a problem of diagnosing myself with serious and very rare conditions sometimes Wink. Back when I was in college age 20 or 21 I noticed my jaw was hurting me. After poking and proding I noticed a lymph node about the size of small bean slightly larger than a pea just under my jaw on the right side. I went to the doctors at my college he said nothing to worry about. Through out the past 5 years i always randomly "check in on it" and its the same size. Ive been to the doctors a few times for other things and they noticed nothing. over the weekend I was touching it and decided to start diagnosing myself again (I know really bad). I got scared and here I am. No pain no symptoms and its very moveable same size as it was 5 years ago its not that soft but not hard either. It is larger than the left side. That is the reason for my concern.

Please any thoughts???

THanks

Hi mcarguyg

Sounds like nothing to worry about. If you are concerned see your doctor as no one here can help you at this stage.

Good luck

Hi mcarguyg,

Nobody's body is absolutely symmetrical (we'd have reversible fingerprints if that were the case!), so don't put too much stock in minor differences.

If you've got a lump that hasn't changed in five years without any other symptoms to go along with it, then I would say that you have nothing to worry about. But if it will ease your mind, a second opinion from a doctor is the way to go.

Thanks for the replies everyone. If anything does change I will post. I just wish I could stop poking and touching it!
