Does anyone have a source (on-line preferred) for High Calorie diets / menus that will help a recovering Pancreatic Cancer patient regain her weight loss with the twist Rolling Eyes that with only part of the pancreas left, watching glucose levels is an issue?
We have tried a few things both liquid & solid but it is slow going especially because she is so worried about blood sugar levels.

Hi wannaknow. I do not have an answer for you but I think I know who might: the nutritionists at the hospital where your wife had her surgery. If they do not know, they may know where to go to find the answer for you or a website for you to visit.

Good luck. If you find anything, post it for our benefit. Thanks.

Hi, I don't know if this will help at all. But I know of a friend who went on a meal replacement shake...to add weight, she would have this shake with fruit and any thing she could eat on top of it. (like haveing two meals etc)

She is also a diabetic (diet controlled). She got hers from a Chemist- drugstor phamacy).

hope you find something.

Appreciate the suggestions.
BM - It's for my 81 yr old mother who has recovered from surgery & getting ready for chemo/rad. So the diet plans from the hospital nutritionists were focused on glucose levels......yes, an update from them is an option.

In - we've been playiug with a few meal replacement brands...just got another one from another member.

Thanks again

There is Ensure made for diabetics, but still gives all the protein, vitamins etc. that they need and carbs for weight gain. I can't think of the name of it, but the phamacist would know. Around here, it's close to the pharmacy but of course, no RX needed.

Here is a receipt that my father like (modified for your grandmother):

One can of diabetic Ensure (or other such product)
4 or 5 cubes of ice
One cup of diabetic ice cream
Fruit of your grandmother's choice
About a cup of whole milk if she can tolerate milk

Put in a blender and blend till it is like a milkshake. You might need more ice depending on whether the Ensure is cold or not.
