My H-37 Lung Cancer was seeing the floor waiving and would wake up in the middle of the night wanting to end his life. We later found out that two of his prescriptions were causing these feelings. One was an upper, and the other a downer, he basically was speed-balling for appx 2 weeks, and lucky he didn't have a heart attack. Please make sure that you Dr. is aware of all our prescriptions with every visit. The RX upper was prescribed by a different Dr. in the same practice and didn't check to see what he was currently taking, and the Pharmacy didn't catch it. _________________ Believe

I have to keep close track of my dad's meds. They do this so that the meds do not interact. Shame on the doc for not reading the chart before he prescribed the medication that caused the interaction. There's no excuse for that.

Hi NewlyWedWife
I absolutely agree with Kristi. It is inexcusable for the 2nd Dr to have prescribed the incorrect medication for your H! Thank God, this error was discovered without any permanent injury or harm to your H.
I work in a GP practice in the front office, we have 4 GP's full-time & I would hate to think this sort of mistake could happen, I know we're all human, but we trustingly put our lives into the hands of the medical professionals during times of illness & bad health. What I'm trying to say is we expect more!
Cheers, Angie. _________________ Brother diagnosed with GBMIV Feb 07

New,
Just goes to show you the importance of tracking everything that goes on with your husband. You are his advocate now and need to monitor everything. Too many times little things like this fall through the cracks and create major problems. Make sure you get copies of any and all tests, scans, etc. for your own records.
