hi
my dad is treating his liver cancer with Sorafenib but is now interrupting the cure for the second time because of accumulation of ammonia on his blood

the first time he was on the treatment for a couple of weeks and he almost went into coma - he was taking also other medicines (pain treatment) so we weren't sure what tyhe ammonia was related to. was hospitalized and recovered so he re-started the Sorafenib treatment for another week (without taking anything else) but again ammonia is accumulating so he is interrupting the cure

anybody had similar experiences with Sorafenib and has advise in terms of alternative ways of subministration or parallel treatments for having ammonia under control?

tks

andrea

Aren't these different names for the same drug>

You posted back in March. I hope you're still watching this topic and can fill us in on what's happened since.

Apparently Nexavar is quite new to the medical profession and I can't get my doctors to give me much clinical information

Help on this would be appreciated.
