I have been on this board before about a uterine cancer scare a couple of years ago. I had a full hysterectomy but it turned out to not be cancerous. I know how utterly terrifying it is to be told you have cancer and I never want to go through that again.
On Monday, August 24th, 2009, I quit smoking.![]()
I got a prescription for Chantix and it's been unbelievable how well it worked. I had sleeplessness and nausea for a little over a week but that went away. It was almost effortless to quit. By my quit date I was not smoking much but I did have to make the conscious decision to not smoke. It wasn't imperitive. It wasn't an urge I had to fight.
I have been happier and felt better than I have in a long time just in these last 4 days. I can BREATHE DEEP and not cough. I take a walk at work when I have a strong urge and I breathe as deep as I can. It really is wonderful.
Oh... and I just had my yearly mammogram and all is OK.
