Cialis, how much & does it help incontinence also?

I am a little confused. When I met with my surgeon before surgery, he told me that I would be taking Cialis every other day after surgery to help push blood into my penis. When I went to get the catheter removed, he gave me some samples & told me to take it once a week to help with blood flow. He told me to take it a couple days after catheter removal for the first dose. I took it after dinner & that night I seemed to have a little bit better bladder control & stayed drier through the night. Has anyone else experienced similar results or am I nuts? Also, how much cialis do you take & how often? Last of all, has anyone else gotten conflicting info from your doctor such as this change in how often to take the little pill?

My surgeon (P.A., Physician's Asst., actually) gave me Cialis samples at my catheter removal. He said it was to help blood flow and healing as much as regaining any sexual functioning. I've read the blood flow/healing part elsewhere also. I was instructed to take them twice a week at least 2 nights apart, as each is good for 36 hours.

Check with your surgeon or P.A. if you are concerned about conflicts in instructions.

At first I thought the Cialis gave me a stomach ache and possible muscle aches, but I was so achy anyway I can't be sure. They don't bother me now.

For me, I can't see that they are a contribution to blood flow or erection, yet at least. I am 5+ weeks post-op and 4+ weeks post-catheter. The penis seems normal otherwise, it has veins, etc. I'm presuming it is just early yet.

I've read others didn't get a buzz from Cialis. As my recovery continues I'll request Viagra or something else if Cialis doesn't work.

    viagara

I'm taking Viagara every other day. However, since my insurance only pays for a 2 week supply (6 tablets which are $120). i cut them in half, so now take 50 mg every other day. i've seen no effect from the Viagara. i also take Muse on the alternate days, but like the Viagara, have seen no effect. Muse is really expensive at $180 for 6 doses (2 week supply) and again my insurance only pays for half. I also bought a VED pump. It is easy to use as I use it daily while showering. It works well, so at least I get the blood flowing daily.

Next Friday I have an appointment with the PA to try the penile injections. hopefully they will work really well. All of this is to keep the tissue in good shape until I rcover full spontaneous erections on my own. At least that's the plan.

    Good luck Travelingman and John.

I tried 1/2 of a 20mg Cialis again last njight & it definitely seemed to make my bladder hold a littlle better overnight but I woke up with a nasty headache & a dull back ache. I think that these are known to be side effects of Cialis. Has anyone else had these symptoms & have you had them on Viagra?

    Cialis

With Cialis I get delayed leg pain (muscles in backs of legs feel like they're cramping). The aches set in 12-36 hours later, and will last up to three days. The discomfort is easily managed by ibuprofen. And it seemed worse with my first doses than with later.

It's not a huge problem for me, because I don't take it regularly. That's good, because I can't afford it. But I can see how it might be a setback if you were supposed to take it daily.

    I haven't had Viagra.

I've tried Levitra, which gave me a very stuffy nose, and pretty good nosebleeds on a couple of occasions, so I went to Cialis.

Cialis has the advantage of working, like the commercials say, for up to 36 hours on the full dose, so if your plans change, you have some flexibility.

    hopeful signs

Since its just us guys, let me report my advance yesterday. On taking the Muse dose, I had about a 75% erection. First flicker since my surgery in July, so I was pretty excited. First time Muse or Viagara gave me any reaction.

I hope this means after 3 1/2 months, the nerves are getting repaired. I lost one nerve bundle, but it was replaced with a nerve graft. Supposed to take up to 18 months for full functioning of that one. But I read that some men with even one nerve bundle can fully function. Here's hoping I bet those odds and timetable.

    Good luck, gents.
