    infection is incision ?

My stitches for Mastectomy were removed 3 days ago. There is a small spot on the incision that is weeping a little. I'm very nervous that I'm getting an infection. Being the weekend the office is closed. Can you tell me anything about this ? Thank you

Sorry you are having some drainage. Is the drainage clear? Or, is it pussy looking? If it is clear, my guess is that it is just normal body fluid draining. Did you have node disection? Did you have a drainage tube? If you are not running a temperature or this site is not red and inflamed, I would think you could wait until Monday to call your doctor. Take care, Lauri

    Lauri,
Thanks sooo much for your reply. I've been Mrs Braveheart through this whole thing so far, why this little bit of, yes clear pinkish dots, on my bandage scared me I don't know. No fever, no additional redness. I will call the Doctor tomorrow but thanks to you I feel a lot better about it all.

If this is just clear/pink discharge without pus and redness around the area, and no fevers it should be ok. I'd still call the doctor and let him know.

    regards,
