    Mole removed from foot

    Hi everyone,

    I had a mole removed from the side of my foot/heel yesterday, just a waiting game now to get the path results, hopefully by the end of the week.

    I know for a fact I didn't have this mole on my foot 2 years ago, so I do have a bad feeling about it. I am so glad it has been removed, and I am confident that it has been caught early enough, it was very small and black but over the past 6 months had changed and had a sort of bumpy/bubbly edge.

    If it is a melanoma and more needs to be removed I am so concered about how they can possibly take more skin as it is on that hard/ridged skin on outside edge of my foot, below my ankle bone. Would I have a skin graft? It is so painful now, I am not looking forward to more surgery.

    Anyway fingers crossed all will be ok and no further treatment will be needed, the doc put down for the results to be urgent so hopefully not much longer.

    My husband had a melanoma removed 4 years ago from his back so it would be ironic if I had one too. My husband is all good now, and fully recovered.

    I live in Melbourne Australia, but lived in UK for first 37 years of my life, I used to be a sunworshiper and also have used sunbeds in the past.

    Anyway fingers crossed

    Stuartlittle;

    First of all, welcome to our little corner of the internet!

    Agreed on the fingers crossed for you.

    I don't have much experience with tissue removal on the foot but the less tissue available usually meant the less, (less deep) they may have to remove.

    If caught early, mel can be very well removed and life goes on.

    I hope that is the case for you!

    Well fantastic news today, the mole was not a melanoma, which is great news, got another week of rest with foot up, ( got told off for walking on foot!!) get stitiches out next week. OMG its such a relief I cant tell you what terrible thoughts have been going through my mind this past few weeks. Good luck to everyone in their journey xx
