    I love Black Caviar

    Hi

OK I have posted recently about this horse but honestly I am in love with this animal. First let me tell you I do not gamble and that makes me somewhat an odd fellow in Australia as we truly are a nation of gamblers. I do not play the pokies ( one armed bandits) and have not been to a Casion in over 15 years. I did play black jack when I was younger but never seriously.

We love our horses but. Part of this comes from the Melbourne Cup and there is no other race like it in the world. It is the race that stops a nation and I kid you not. Every office, every schoolroom, every hospital, every work crew, everyone stops to watch this race. Dont believe just ask Didee. The great Makybe Diva won a place in our hearts by beating the field 4 times in a row something that no one thought possible She even beat Phar Lap who is the nations greatest hero ( yep I know a horse) But the cup is a long distance race and Black Caviar is a sprinter so she will never race in it. She is the fastest sprinter in the world and 20 wins on the trot prove it. Black Caviar has never been beaten.

Wanna know why I love her so much. She is poetry in motion and beautiful to watch. Her jockey says that he has never been on a horse like her. The whip never comes out it is simply not needed she just goes.

Anyway here is a compliation of wins

A beautiful animal is a beautiful animal and I do love her. She is racing her 21st race in Adelaide and I will be there. They even moved the big footy match so we can all see her. I can't wait

Yep. The nation stops for the Melbourne cup.
My mother and sister would put on their awful gardening hats (fashion is the name of the game too for this race) and sit in front of the TV with a glass of wine up in Queensland.
One year they made me do it, do a cam shot and email it to them! I am in New South Wales.

Okay, I'm such a foodie that this caught my attention for that reason. Hahahaha. I love black caviar, the food.

So happy you had a good day C-man. That's a big event to get tickets to -- comparable to one of our triple crowns? I missed watching the Derby this year. Not too into horse racing, but love the big hats.

Left my embrace to live with our Heavenly Father in October of 2007 and now breathes with ease forever. I will miss this gentle, giving soul with the easy smile for the rest of my days, but have faith we will be together again. He's just getting a little break from me!

    Hi peebs

the race was no big deal, only 7 horse apart from black caviar were there. she finished at a canter. Hopefully she beats Frankel at Ascot. the crowd was there only to see her.

    Hi peebs

No the melbourne cup is like no other race in the world. When i say the country stops it really stops. You could shoot a gun down any street in any city and you won't hit a person they are all watching the race. Its seriously nuts

Wow -- that only happens here for our Super Bowl! World Series is close, so is the college basketball March Madness, but likely that race is comparable to the Super Bowl here.

The part I love about things like the Super Bowl is the teams represent the towns. If you're team wins, all you have to do is open your front door and hear all the fireworks and people standing outside with utensils banging pans to make noise. Ha!
