    Scheduled for CT scan

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how long it would take to get the results from my CT scan. I've already had a Barrium swallow test and a biopsy and I do have a cancerous mass in my stomach. I'm told that this is a test to determine what stage the cancer is in. Can anyone help me? I was just wondering if there will be more test and if so, what?

    Thanks

It really depends on the doctors and the system. Most major hospital/doctors know the results within hours. However, it my take sometime for your doctor to review the results, consult with others on your healthcare team, schedule an appointment with you… As a general rule, if you get a call too soon, it is generally because the doctor thinks that the results are not good and that whatever was found needs attention soon. Usually, I call my doctor within a few days to find out if he has had a chance to review the tests. Mainly, this call is just to remind the doctor about me . Sometimes, I just call his office to see if he wants me to schedule an appointment.

    Goodluck!
