Hello, My husband was recently diagnosed with CLL. Is there any one out there who has CLL and can share their experience. Thank you, Heather

Hello Heather and welcome to the forum. I hope you find the help that you seek. My father died with ALL in Sept 2006. I do not know much about CLL that you cannot or have not found by doing a Google search. However, I am sure there are members better informed about this cancer than I am. As with all Leukemia's the greatest concern is a secondary infection of some kind. Do things that will boost his immune system: good nutrition, exercise, vitamins, and a positive attitude are great medicines. You might want to take a look at the Complementary and Alternative Medicine forum above. Don't take everything there as proven science. However, there might be some helpful information there about how to increase your husband's immunity. I am so sorry for the reason you came looking for this site but glad that you found us. I will keep you and your husband in my thoughts and prayers.

    Hi Heather,

I am also a CLLer. Dx in December of 2002. I was however one of those for lack of a better word "macho" guys that never went to the doctor. I was already well beyond any w&w period. I required treatment immediately. I received 8 rounds of FCR (Fludara, Cytoxin and Rituxan). I completed that in August of 2003. I am happy to say that I am 4 years in remission this month.

Do you have any information you can share about your husband's dx? What are his prognostic indicators? Has he had any testing done to determine these things?

FISH test and a flow cytometry are a good place to get started.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I may not have all the answers but i can show you where to find them.

I will keep you and your husband in my thoughts and prayers.

    God Bless you both,

    Loren
