Got some very sad news last week about my brother's girlfriend Annie. Annie is 20 years old and has been diagnosed with leukemia and lymphoma and is also a hemophiliac, which means her body isn't clotting and allowing the blood transfusions she so badly needs right now. Annie is very weak and very sick and not able to get out of bed. She should be enjoying the prime of her life right now, but instead she's facing an uncertain future.

I was trying to think of something I could do for Annie (she lives too far for me to go and visit) and thought about how it's sometimes the little things that lift our spirits. Imagine what it would be like for you to get little letters from people you don't even know offering their encouragement. So, this is what I've decided to do- I've decided to start the Letters for Annie campaign. If you can find the time, please write a short note to Annie to let her know you're thinking of her duing this difficult time. Be sure to include at least your first name and the city and state where you live and then if you could email your letter to: djtracitaylor@gmail.com, I'll print out the letters and mail them to my brother to read to Annie.

Please consider writing something to Annie. Imagine if you or your child were going through something like this and how much it would mean to you.

Thanks for your help,
Traci
