salivary gland problems post RAI
I was treated with 150 mci in May 2007 of RAI post thyroidectomy. In August my salivary glands began swelling up every time I ate anything. My doctor kept telling me it was a blocked duct and would clear up. The glands still swell up sometimes and are very painful. Lately my mouth is so dry I cannot swallow nor chew fodd properly. I am biting my cheeks all the time. Any solutions for this? Is it definitely related to RAI treatment or something new?

Hi
You can try using saliva substitutes. They are available over the counter (OTC), no need prescription.
Brands like Biotene and GC mousse/gel are great products.
Hope you will feel better soon
