First is regarding the link to my story in my signature box. How do I make it a link. It seems you all have links and everything doesn't allow html. I am confused, again? I should use 'confused' for a user name. 2nd good one I have found since this cancer trip.
My 2nd questions I tried to avoid asking but I am getting tired of logging back in. Why do I have to keep logging in. I mean when I am reading and writing. Don't tell me so I learn my password.
I know I did tell Jim before that I was familiar with message boards like this one and I really like them BUT this one is not fully functionable. I tried to bold and got no link and no html.
I finally got the story up. Late again. Will try to get back earlier. I am just not on a regular schedule even for me. Thanks,

A1: html and the bbCodes are disabled on this forum. There was abuse of these in the past and the owner disabled them. I see that the link to your story already works so you must have figured that one out. But for those who still do not know, the secret is just to place the URL for the page you want. For example, in order to link to this topic, I would enter http://cancerforums.net/viewtopic.php?t=9080 . No html or bbCode required but be sure to leave a space before and after the address. Notice that I left a space after the "9080" but before the period. If I had not done that, the computer would thing the period was part of the address and therefore the link would not work.

A2: I have no idea why you are getting logged off all the time. I do know that there is an overall "time out" on the forum. If you are not actively doing something on the forum, it will log you off automatically.

Thanks Jim for the reply. I think I had a period in the way on my link. I only got it to work by accident. I changed something. No biggy on the log in. I will watch closer. I thought I checked FAQ and must have missed it. I just checked topics of interest.
Jim, It all sounds good to me. BTW, I read a lot of your Story/blog. I hope I can soon read it all. Sorry to hear you are having problems. Boy, I related to some things. I only had a Siberan Husky for short time in the 60's but that is my favorite dog. Too hot here for them. I do live in Arizona which you mention.
I couldn't get thru all this without a sense of humor. Actually mine may be slipping lately. I got a kick out of reading about your stuttering and in church.

This looks like a good place to post a general user question?
Is info about paper books OK to post, or would that be like putting up a URL when you're not allowed? I'd like to start a thread about recommended books. I have several that have been lifesavers to me, and I'd like to see what other people here have found useful.
(And how long does one have to be a member to post links?)

Dxed with Stage IB2 cervical cancer by one doctor and IVB by another in 10/11. Finished six weeks of pelvic chemorad in 12/11. Lung tumor found in 10/11 dxed as IB NSCLC in 8/12. Dec. '12 scan showed clear pelvis, no growth in lung tumor and new activity in remote lymph nodes. Is it a Stage I and a Stage IV, three Stage Is, or a cured cancer with something benign going on? Lost interest and went off the reservation after a year of unsuccessfully fighting for a good biopsy.
Go ahead and link away. The policy only covers new users and providing you are not touting a bussiness site then anything that can help our fellow members is most welcome.

I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.
It is my understanding that forum FAQ questions are to do with the running of the forum. At least they are in other forums I have been on.
Regarding membership and posting links there is a policy for new members rules at the TOP of EVERY forum here.
It states that members have to be here a month as well as posted 10 or more significant posts.
The place for talk that is not about cancer in in the Lounge.
Questions pertaining to cancer issues are best in their own board or in the general Cancer section.
Aussie, age 56, Dx Peripheral T Cell Lymphoma stage 2B bulky, aggressive Dec/09.
6 chop14 and Neulasta.
Clean PET April/10, 18 rads 36gy mop up. All done May 2010
Iffy scan Nov. 2011.
Scan Feb 2012 .still in remission.
May/2012. U/sound, thyroid scan, FNB. Benign adenoma. A lump in otherwords, nodule if you wish to be specific.
Still NED Nov 2012. On to yearly bloods now.

I did see the policy, but wasn't sure whether 10 of my posts so far rise to the level of "significant." Thanks, though, for taking the time to reply. I am sure getting the same questions from new people over and over can be exasperating, especially when they are answered so well in the FAQ. I apologize for being too lazy to look back over it before firing off a dumb question!
