Hi My name is Kalani and I am new to this forum. I had a lump on the left side of my neck that I had the doctor checked out in December 07. Then on January 2 2008 I have been diagnosed with Nasopharyngeal carcinoma. As of January 31 I started an aggressive treatment or both Radiation (35 treatments) and Chemo (8 treatments). With 2 weeks of treatment left to go I ended up in the hospital do to dehydration and rapid weight loss from not eating and drinking enough. After a week in the hospital I came out re-hydrated and a feeding tube and rested another week before finishing my full treatment of both Radiation and Chemo therapy. It has been 3 weeks now since my last day of treatment and feel my self getting better every week. But I still can't taste anything and there's like a film in my mouth that makes my mouth gross. I'm looking forward to tasting again. I know starchy foods is a big NO because it sticks allover and along the film and thick saliva it's not working. Anyone knows when I can expect to get my taste buds back and what's the film like thing in my mouth? Any information is greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Kalani
