    My Story....

I am a 40 year old male in Washington State, who yearly ends up in the ER with chronic Bronchitis that just never goes away.

2 weeks ago the same happened, except this time they tell me I have an elevated M Protein level, lowered kidney & liver functions and elevated white blood count. Now from a surviving cancer patient, this is devastating.

I;ve gone to see a Dr. Kaya in Washington State who has ran even more blood tests, which wont be back until the 12th. That's a LONG time to wait to see if I actually have a second type of cancer. I just want to crawl into a hole and hide until the 12th.

This is the 2nd time I've had to deal with this, and I'm just not sure I can go through this a second time (though it's a different type of cancer, the feelings & fear are the same)

PsychoCoder, I am very sorry about your health concerns. I know how hard it is to wait. In 2005 when my cancer recurred I had to wait from July to November before a treatment decision what made. I thought they would never make up their minds.

I know a little about MM. My ex father-in-law and a major father image of mine died of MM 6 years after his diagnosis.

Tell us about the first time. Since you post under the Multiple Myeloma forum, is that what it was?

How long have you been in remission?

    My story

    From Anna,

Hi PsychoCoder, Sorry to hear your going through this again. If you mean your no longer in remission. Maybe this will give you hope. My Dad has been dealing with MM for almost 11 years. He was in remission for 5 of them. He isn't now but his protein count his holding steady so he's not on treatment right now.

    Your friend,

    Anna
