    Nose Bleeds

This is very likely NOT a cancer related issue, but.....

For a couple of weeks now, I have had a problem with nose bleeds. It can happen at any time of the day or night. Just all at once I feel like snot is coming out my nose but when I wipe it, I see blood. It could be sinus related. I do have sinus problems. It could be the fluctuation in temperature. We have had wild temperature swings here over the last few weeks. Could it be blood pressure?

Like I said... this is not cancer related

Well Jim...your subject of "Nose Breads" really had me wondering there for a minute My first thought regarding nose bleeds would be blood pressure which is easy to rule out if it's not. I'd definately stop in a pharmacy or doc's office and put the cuff on.

    That's all I have to add...have a good day!

    Hi Jim,

I went to correct the title, but saw it had already been commented on. I like nose breads better myself anyway --- it piqued my curiosity.

Give the doc a call. I'll tell you what you always tell others -- better safe than sorry! My nose and sinuses are giving me a heck of a time lately too. Very itchy and sore feeling, with cracking and blood -- but no full out nose-breads.

Let us know what you find out.

    Hugs,

    Hi Jim

I suffer with nose bleeds any time anywhere, even in my sleep.they are followed by a "clot" of mucus.I have been DX with high blood pressure and prescribed beta blockers.

My mother before me was exactly the same.

interestingly, my grandson,Marc, who as you know is a BT patient did also suffer the same type of nose bleed but his bp is alright.

best to get it checked out.I do notice that mine are more frequent at the change of the seasons

My dad was getting nose bleeds but he started using a salt water only nasal spray and they've stopped. Doctor said it wasn't cancer related but that it might have been the time spent in the hospital because of the dryer air. Not sure where you live or what kind of environment you have going on in your home but if it is dryness related a salt water spray can be used pretty much as often as you need and might help.

Anyway, I hope they go away for you, or maybe they have already. Still best to check with the doctor in my opinion.

It is not bleeding for the time. It bleeds when the temperature and possibly atmospheric moisture and pressure are fluctuating very day... like it is during early spring :rool:. I do use salt spray to make it stop. Maybe I should us it more often

My husband used to get nosebleeds frequently but after the surgery, he seemed to get them much more often. We talked to a couple of the drs and they all said it was not cancer related, if it was a huge concern to us, go see an ENT and get it cauterized.

edited to add: Adding a couple of humidifiers in the house seemed to help
