Hi everyone. I am new to this site as of today. I know i may just be freaking myself out, but better safe than sorry right??
Ever since i was born, i had a mole in my pubic region, not on my vagina, but 4 inches below and 3 inches to the right of my belly button. it is not in the crease of my leg and genital area, it is just sitting there below my pants line. As i was doing research it looked more like a skin tag, but has hair growing out of it and it is raised and hanging. Its about 3.4 of an inch wide.. It looks bumpy, cauliflower looking, however it seems to be on top of a circular mole. It does not hurt or sore or anything, but i feel i may be more at risk for melanoma with my history of sun exposure. The second mole i noticed just started to grow when i was tanning last summer. It became itchy and it would bleed. This mole is located on my left butt cheek towards the top. I immediately stopped tanning after i noticed the mole which was growing rapidly. it is tiny, but it was bright red, then turned to a brown color and it looks like there is a bruise on the one end of it, like two different colors.
I am 23 years old. I have had three major sunburns in my life which have turned into blisters all over my body when i was 9, 10 and 16. I have been in tanning beds since i was 16 years old and recently stopped when i was 21 due to the scare of the growing mole on my upper butt cheek. I also have freckles, blue eyes, and light brown hair. My shoulders also have those darkened larger freckles from continued skin exposure. I dont tan easily either.
I started to worry myself, and now have a dermatologist appoitment on June 5th. Does this sound like melanoma to anyone? Any suggestions are definately appreciated! Thank you.
Hey Nicolina you're doing the best thing possible by going to see the dermatologist. Only the professionals can tell you if it's melanoma or not, so don't scare yourself and self diagnose!!! Melanoma can come in many different shapes and sizes and colours so best leave it to the doctors. I hope and pray everything goes your way.
