    Allergy reaction

    After not having problems with allergic reaction I'm now itchy like crazy after the last one.

    The difference seems to be having the endoscopy right after the chemo interrupting the pattern of taking the steroids. I can't see what the endo would do to trigger the reaction tho they gave me something intravenously.

    Broke out in a mild case of hives - itchy and red and took some anti-histimane which flattened my energy unreal. Awful day. Crash and burn big time.

    Avoiding those, now on the energy boost of the steroids but still minor itchies...any thoughts??

    Hi SD

    I started itching at around the same time . sometime after round 5. and I haven't stopped. Its mainly on my lower legs but from time to time I itch all over. I try not to scratch but it drives me nuts. I found that putting a water based skin creme on helps, this was recommended by the nursing staff. I use Nivea and buy it in big bottles and it helps a lot, but any water based skin creme will work I have been told. I reckon its the chemo that causes it but I could get no answers to that question from anyone. 12 months out from Chemo and it still itches ...... But at least I am alive to whinge about it

    Great.....if that IS my only legacy from this misadventure I'll take it.

    Need a damn back scratcher tho - been using the door jambs.
