Post Can Mesothelioma be Cured ?

Many doctors are simply resigned to do everything they can to make their patients comfortable. Mesothelioma disease is usually diagnose too late, the doctors can not do much to treat the disease.

Chemotetherapy tends to steer towards slowing down the growth of the cells. In many cases chemotherapy is combined with radiation therapy but this is simply not enough.

The best solution is early diagnosis so that treatment is more easily done.

Hi Edy. Thanks for your comment. Yes, early detection is the key. Unfortunately, Mesotheliomas are very difficult to diagnose early since the symptoms can be confused with other respiratory problems.

i have been researching this topic recently. From what i have found mesothelioma is diagnosed at a later stage and is hard to actually remove due to to it being on the membrane of the lungs. If the patient is having both Chemo AND radiation therapy it is a good sign as many are to frail to use both.

Hello Edy. Unfortunately there is no cure for mesothelioma and the average life expectancy is about 6 months to 1 year. The good news is that with the right treatment life expectancy can be maximized.

Mesothelioma is almost incurable disease and the bad news all the patients who have develop mesothelioma never know the cancer have grow due to its symptoms which almost similar with other respiratory disease. The best ways is identified asbestos exposure history from our activity and environment we live

In short, there is no cure for Mesothelioma, just as there is really no cure for other types of invasive cancer. With that in mind, though, there are a lot of treatments that can be used for Mesothelioma, and some of the newer ones are starting to show more promise than the older ones did. Traditionally, surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation were the options for Mesothelioma, and they were the only ones that were used. They are still used, and they are still the most common. However, gene therapy and other new treatments are also being tried today as supplements to the more traditional options. They aren't offering a cure, but they seem to work in concert with the other options for treatment . There's no reason why all reasonable treatment options shouldn't be exhausted by a patient who really wants to have the highest chance of a longer lifespan.

A lot of people who contract Mesothelioma are angry that they have the disease and they're upset that they didn't know the risks at the time that they were working with asbestos. They often want to get some kind of monetary compensation for their disease so that they can pay their medical bills and leave something to their family. With that in mind, they quite often join class action lawsuits against companies that have used asbestos in the past and failed to warn workers of the dangers of working with it. While Mesothelioma can't be cured, compensation and treatment are available.
