I live in "Watch For Deer Crossing" country and deer forget to look both ways before crossing highways. Deer + Car = not good, so maybe it was just as well you didn't see any crossing deer.
Wishing you and your wife the best Thanksgiving ever, my friend.

Hello forum friends and their followers,

It has sure been one hectic month since we returned to the West Coast!
I’ve spent an inordinate amount of time at hospital, going to hospital or returning there from; not to mention the time waiting to be seen there!
We visited my regular doctor and a local clinic concerning possible PAV in my left leg and today spent time with a tech who did a blood pressure test on both arms and both legs, BUT we won’t get the result of that test for as while. Earlier we visited my first west coast oncologist and the CT clinic for a scan (that an hour trip down and an added half-hour return). Then we spent time in the local hospital with a cardiologist how did a Angioplasty procedure (by going in at my wrist instead of groin). Turns out that my heart is in good shape and I didn’t need any stents, etc. The thought that some of the shortness of breath was a heart issue was not so….So, the NSCLC is still the ‘root’ cause.

We had our first appointment with my new oncologist, She took a great deal of time with us and was really impressive. Knows her stuff! AND, more importantly, Linda liked her!!

I’ve been told that I now need to be on oxygen most of the time; so I get to haul around the tank. I am so NOT looking forward to that.

Now I’m gonna stop whining!! The sun is shining in the normally dismal north west and we are suppose to get 4 full days of sunshine. Wow! Our grand daughter is growing! Christmas is right around the corner and I am truly loving life!!

    Warmest regards to all,
    zim

    Zim

As always friend, good to hear from you but sorry to hear of all the back and forth at the hospital. Good to know you like your new oncologist as we all know it makes a huge difference mentally when we feel our voice is heard and feel that your concerns are being addressed. Sorry to hear about the "tank" but we are sure, in the Zim fashion, you will adjust and enjoy the cherished time with that granddaughter of yours.

Big hug to you and Linda.

    Lisa

    Hello Zim,

First off you never whine. You always take on whatever heads your way with dignity and a smile. You give hope and strength to many. I am hoping, although the tank may be annoying, that with it you can avoid the hospitals and continue to enjoy life with Linda and the two of you can focus on that adorable Princess. I too am glad you like your new onc. Nothing more relieving than being able to put your trust in the person caring for your very life.

Enjoy the sun. I have snow and more snow up here. Canada....go figure eh?

    All the best my friend,
    Jodie

    Hi Jodie,

Did I ever mention that my oldest son is a "Goofie Newfie"? Born there is 1965 and he still thinks like a Newfoundlander!

Keep the snow AND enjoy it, too.

    Regards, zim

    Hi Ya'll,

Thanks for the well wishes! I posted over on Linda's threat. I repeat here; For cracked hands and/or feet, use "Zim's Crack Cream".
It is a little gooie, but it works great!

Petra, I guess the move south didn't help with the temps. Just remember, This too will pass.

Regards from 'zim and his Tank'!!
