A few weeks ago my pap smear test results came back abnormal, though on the mild side. My gyno scheduled a colposcopy and she said it appeared to look mild from what she could see. She also said, "call me next week for the results, but it looks mild and you'll need another pap smear in six months."
Today, I received a call from her assistant asking me to make an appointment to see my doctor so that she can give me the results of the colposcopy. I asked if this was procedural and she sort of rebuffed me and said, "I can't give you any information over the phone. All I know is that it is not an emergency but the doctor would like to see you."
Now, a few things:
I have had HPV before.
I have had a colposcopy before.
It went away on its own.
My last pap smear was last November, 2011, and it came back normal.
Currently, i have had a yeast infection (based on the doctor's assessment) for what feels like 2 months now - a little discharge and mild itchiness. Is this related to the HPV? Or an indication of cancer?
My worry: Why does my doctor want to see me about my colposcopy ressults? I asked her during the procedure if I had cancer and she said, "No, no." But she also said to just call her about the results, and now she wants to see me.
What did the biopsy tell her that she needs to see me?
Please help! I'm a nervous wreck over here and I can't see her for another two days!
