    Therapies to offset effects of chemotherapy?

    Hello all,

    I am wondering if anybody has experience with complementary therapies that are used to offset the effects of chemotherapy (i.e regimens that may help bolster the immune system, natural therapies that may counteract side effects). Any information would be appreciated.

    October 2013-Mom vomiting for two days straight, went to ER
    MRI revealed mass on pancreas
    October 2013-CT scan confirmed, no metastases but possibly malignant
    Endoscopy performed; confirmed malignancy
    October 21, 2013-Met with surgeon, whipple scheduled
    November 1, 2013-Surgery performed, entire pancreas removed due to pre-cancerous lesions. Clean margins, several positive lymph node
    Mid-November-met with oncologist, recommended 6 months chemo, blood tests, CA 19-9 19
    Mid-December- met with oncologist, declined chemotherapy, blood work CA 19-9 of 17
    1/13/2014- Appt. with new oncologist
    1/14/2014- Lab results normal, CA 19-9 of 19.
    1/20/2014-First post-surgery CT scan, NED
    2/27/2014-Appt. with another new oncologist, very empathetic and caring...finally!
    2/29/2014-Lab results normal, CA 19-9 of 20

    It would depend on which side effects are happening but usually Doctors have meds for most..
    Aussie, age 61
    1987 CIN 111. Cervix lasered, no further problems.

    Years of pain, bleeding, women's plumbing problems. TV ultrasound, tests, eventual hysterectomy 2007, fibroids in lining of Uterus.

    Dx Peripheral T Cell Lymphoma stage 2B bulky, aggressive Dec/09.
    6 chop14 and Neulasta.
    Clean PET April/10, 18 rads 36gy mop up. All done May 2010
    Iffy scan Nov. 2011. Scan Feb 2012 .still in remission.Still NED Nov 2012.
    Discharged Nov 2014.

    May/2012. U/sound, thyroid scan, FNB. Benign adenoma.

    Relapse Apr 2016. AITL. Some chemos then on to allo transplant. Onc says long remission was good. Still very fixable.

    SCT Aug 2016
