    Mixing complement therapies

Hi all, this is my first post so not sure where it will end up! My partner was recently been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer which has spread to his liver. Awaiting results from PET scan to determine if it has metastised(?)
further. He is going to try chemo initially but is also interested in complementary therapies such as colloidal silver and cannabis oil or tincture which is currently being trialled in Oz. Does anyone know if the two can be mixed together in a juice or smoothie?

Since your question is about complementary therapy, I've moved it to that forum.

Sorry to hear about your partners diagnosis. It's always hard to hear.

You mention he is going to try chemo initially. Please note the difference between complementary and alternative treatments. Complementary means it is done ALONG WITH traditional, science based medical treatment. Alternative means it is done as an ALTERNATIVE TO science based medical treatment. This site allows discussion of complementary treatment, but not alternative treatment. There are plenty of sites devoted to those topics. We keep our focus on science based cures and the patients and caregivers using them.

In my opinion, during chemotherapy always discuss complementary therapy you are considering with the oncologist. There could be negative interactions that make chemo less effective. I personally think colloidal silver is a quack cure, but there may be some benefit with cannabis.

Best of luck to you both. If he proceeds with chemo, please let us know how he is doing in the liver cancer forum.
