    Uterine Papillary Serous Cancer

Just checking in to see if there are any women with this diagnosis. I'm Stage IV, diagnosed 11/2011. Currently NED.

Hi, I do not have the type of cancer you have, but looking online, as you know, your diagnosis is rare. Statistically, you seem to have beaten the odds so far, as uterine papillary serous cancer is aggressive. I choose early on not to consider statistics, it warred against my will to fight. I looked at some research on papillary serous cancer, most of the information is over my ability to comprehend; there seems to be a lot of variables associated with outcomes: staging, grade, treatments, pathogenisis, etc.. I noticed due to its rarity, I hardly see any Stage 4 women in research reports. Hopefully others with this type of cancer will respond to you, being so rare, and so advanced, it may take time for people with a similar diagnosis to see your post. It is good to be NED so far out from your diagnosis, it seems encouraging to me. Continue to fight and believe for the best.

    Take care,

    Rhonda

My mom was diagnosed with this in June 2012. Stage 1. She had total hysterectomy, chemo and radiation. 6 mos after finishing her treatment her oncologists considered her cured. She had 3 month follow-ups for 2 years after that and now goes every 6 months. Still cancer free! I still worry a little though and am so looking forward to her hitting her 5 years mark next year. I should add my mom is now 83. She's a tough chick. Best wishes to everyone.

Hi Denise, are you able to provide some advise on your living habits. Were you on a strict diet? Exercised? My mom was just told that she has an elevated ca 125 and the doctor wants her to go for another check up next week. Any advise will be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Judy

    Hi Judy,

Denise has not been back since her original post in March 2016. I very much encourage you to start your own post but as per procedure I am going to close this one to present confusion. Looking forward to meeting you in your very own post. If you have any questions, please send me a private message.
