From the old dog chasing its tail hoping today they find out or at least get a indication what’s happening in the nether regions.

To add hopefully a little humour

Yesterday the dear lady decided unbeknown to myself

To have a clear out of my slacks that don’t actually ? fit any more so she says.

Found 7 pairs of brand new never worn US made John Winn slacks plus jeans in a bag ready for the charity shop.
Asking Why she had binned them - The preci’d Reply was as follows

Too many in wardrobes, I can’t find space for my clothes.
Got me wondering whether this was a omen.
Lifes a laugh as I snuck 3 pairs back in.
I bet they will be gone when I get back from the hospital this afternoon.

    DEXA bone scan clear
13/5 CT showed "unknown" but no concern from docs.
Inguinal lymph nodes and severe groin pain.
Ultrasound and MRI show no nasties. Pheww
Groin pain and enlarged lymph nodes still there.
October -still the same pains but under semi control.
Additional chest CT scan ordered for 11th November prior to surgery.
    Sinus surgery done and dusted.
July 2014 PSA at 5.10. 2months of antibiotics in case of UTI, jan 2015 PSA at 7.20, 23/08 now 8.2, current 8.1

    Nick,
Or conversely flat on my derrière in which case I will not need the slacks.

Serious discussion to follow Before the Sigmoiodoscopy I tell you as the last 3 occasions they have “put something in me” I’ve ended up with serious complications.
Now, assurances mean sweet damn all all to me I assure you.
Looking forward to the discourse and watching for their reaction.
Should be interesting, we shall wait and see.

Missus says don’t do it, I ignored her the last twice and look what occurred.
    Premonition or what.

Good luck today, Barry! I hope things are seamless and without complication of any kind. As to your pants, who needs a pair for every day of the week anyway?

In my thoughts and sending good wishes,

Indeed good luck, I came out with a smile from ear to ear.
Saw A Mr Frederico Celentaro a smiling Italian consultant.
What a refreshing change, a specialist who took a holistic approach, looking at the whole me rather than the microcell NHS mentality, which is
Symptoms don’t fit into my little box of speciality so pass him to the next microcell and so it generally goes on and on and .....
Agreed a sigmoidoscopy is a waste of time , adding you have been through enough. In any case I wouldn’t see what I needed to so if you agree
a virtual colonoscopy within two weeks which also I hope will show what is the cause.
    Of source I agreed.

There is something he palpated But was sure it wasn’t in the remaining descending colon.

Possibly a sub cutaneous hernia or some unpronounceable something or other bundle from precious surgeries not adhesions I add.
    DRE nothing remarkable.
    Otherwise a good examination.
    Again wait and see.

Oh Barry, I'm sorry you still have no answers but very pleased to learn they decided not to put you through tests they believed wouldn't provide any.

A refreshing change I’d suggest to meet a consultant that looks at the whole picture.
Although we are factually no further forward at least I feel somewhat confident that we are heading in the direction of finding out what is going on.

The last years have been somewhat traumatic to be frank, at times, well most of the time coloured by pain that one cannot ignore and despite best endeavours of my GP’s and hospital to diagnose the problem(s), we are still where we are.
I refuse to take ever increasing dosage of pain medications ensuring that I have a self induced regular pain killer break of at least two weeks to ensure addiction is not a problem.
So far so good although the docs consider my action as being somewhat irresponsible, i at least have comfort in knowing addiction is not a problem.

For myself this is essential, remaining in control as it is far too easy
to just pop another tablet or two.
We wait to see if there is any progress after the scan.

    Barry,

The pill solution is far too prevalent in the NHS. My father, whilst sitting on the sofa for most of the day, expected a pill as he 'didn't have much energy'.

I admire your desire to get things sorted and for having self imposed holidays from pills until it is sorted. There seems hope with this new consultant.

I was called in for routine blood pressure testing and it showed slightly high, later confirmed as merely white coat syndrome. My conversation was always, "so what are you going to do it it tests high? Give me statins? Don't bother because I won't take them."

    Nick,
Ahh, the good old statins which half the population of the U.K are on.

Alas my friend I have zero option but to take them given my history of vascular problems and ....
Dont mention blood pressure meds, although 10 mg of Amlodopine a day isn’t so bad.
I abjectly refused take blood thinners even cutting out aspirin.

Good news today from respitory following a chest X-ray done this afternoon seems all is just about back to normal in that area.
At least some good news is always welcome.

So armed with a bottle of Gastrografin and the how to do leaflet ((as if I didn’t know after two) I await the call from bookings as to when in the next two weeks.
    Onwards and upwards.
Take care pal and stay in the saddle.
