    endometrial cancer

Hi. I'm new to this post, but was looking for others who have been diagnosed with endometrial cancer. I just found out this week and I'm scheduled to have a CT SCAN tomorrow and then see the Obgyn oncologist Monday to set up my complete hysterectomy. I'm so scared and I've been an emotional roller coaster. Can anyone give me any information if you have this and what to expect ?

I found your post and moved it here MrsScott. Now your have your very own thread.
I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I am hoping we can help you here and make your roller coaster slow down, have smaller ups and downs or better yet come to a stop.
CT scans are simple. Not sure if you had one of those or not - but you just lay down on a table and you and pushed in until the machine is covering the area of concern. Your head will likely stick out the other side and not be covered by a machine or anything (hope that makes sense).
As for the hysterectomy there are several surgical options. The most common 2 of those are the a davinci laparoscopic or the laparoscopic procedures. You get 3 to 4 little slits in your abdomen area and in an hour or two bob's your uncle and you are done. Recovery is usually 6 to 8 weeks. You have to walk lots to keep your bowels moving or there's some trouble for ya. Adhere to the lifting restrictions. I didn't and really paid for it. There is actually lots to say but I will stop there and see what specific questions you have. Also sending you a private message. Look for Notifications box at the top right hand corner of the page ok?
    Hope I have helped some,

Hi everyone, I was diagnosed last week with Grade 1 endometrial cancer, had an MRI last Wednesday; and I am sitting here now waiting to talk to the clinical nurse specialist about the results and what stage it is. My case was heard at my local hospitals Multidisciplinary Team meeting today and I will be heard again at the Royal London Hospital again tomorrow. This is to decide the stage, the method of hysterectomy and also the treatment plan. I cannot stop my heart from pounding waiting for the results. Please all let me know how things are.
