    Father has stomach cancer

At the moment daddy has stage 4 stomach cancer, obstructions in his stomach that make it so he has to have a feeding tube through his nose, and is currently on a 3 weeks on 1 week off cancer regiment of Cyramsa and Taxol.

He's currently getting his treatment at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Goodyear Arizona.

I am his caregiver, 26 years of age. And cancer sucks.

I know God is in control of this situation, but I feel maybe I'm getting a little caregiver burnout/cynicism after a year.

26 year old caregiver, feeling a bit overwhelmed

Dad is having a bit of a hard time with his stomach cancer. More and more things keep coming up, and I just feel like sometimes I'm just not the person that shoulda been picked for this job I guess....

Sorry you find yourself here and feeling so overwhelmed. I have merged your two threads and moved them here as this is where others may chime in with same diagnosis as your father whether they are a caregiver or diagnosed .

You are correct, caregiving is difficult. From trying to find what will help combined with you being so young, it is understandable you feel the way you do.

Keep strong and let us know if you have specific questions we may be able to answer.

Caregiving is the hardest thing I have ever done. I’m at the stage of one foot in front of the other. There are times I want to scream, cry and run away. Then I look at my husband of 47 years and remember all he has done for me. I love him very much and that’s what keeps me going.
His fight is over. How brave he was. 47 years of love.
