One thing hospice didn't really know about was cheap alternatives to getting rid of my dad's body after he died. My family is very poor, and they said cremation was a round $1000. My dad died penniless. I called Medcure twenty minutes after he died, they asked me some questions (they have to qualify-- no HIV or TB patients), and had a funeral home take him away about an hour after his death. They took his body to a science facility, and will take care of everything, and we will receive his ashes in about two months. Everything free of charge. This is a nice thing, as my dad, who died of lung cancer had wanted to be an organ donor. I hope this helps and need that might need help figuring out what to do.
